Penn Relays

In 2019 MOSA and its members made a commitment to provide a substantial amount of funding support for hotel accommodation for the Mico athletes attending the competition.  In January 2020, MOSA and individual members raised the bar to provide at least US$3,000 for accommodation.  This amount, of course, is only a portion of the cost for accommodation.

At the 2019 event, the athletes had a great performance but fell short of qualifying for the finals.  Athletes, although disappointed, pledged to continue training for a stellar performance at the 2020 mete.  They were congratulated by the Jamaican Ambassador to the United States, Audrey Marks, and by the MOSA President, Claudette Morris, on their sportsmanship, even in defeat.

MOSA participated in various events to provide sponsorship for the athletes attending the Penn Relays.  Representation was made at the Lawyers and Friends Inaugural Gala to raise awareness of the undertaking of Team Jamaica Bickle at the Penn Relays.  It was also a means of raising needed funding to host athletes, especially from the Caribbean.

MOSA also attended the annual breakfast hosted by TBJ where we provided a donation to the organization.  This breakfast is also a fundraiser and solicits volunteers for onsite activities in Philadelphia during the week of the competition.
